Vintage Ceramic TV Lamps

 I actually remember these kitschy 50s TV lamps. The cathode ray tubes in early TV sets put out a low level of luminosity and the images were washed out by bright lights, hence the need for these low light lamps. In my grandmother's house panthers and chinoiserie hung on until the 70s, long after cathode ray tube technology had improved to the point where the scenes on the screen could hold their own even in well-lit rooms.
